Luca's Mod Monkey

I must start by apologising for being MIA for so long. I am busy with a diploma at WITS Business School, so between working full time and studying I haven't had much time for anything else. 

Just before starting my course I did manage to squeeze in time to bake this cake and cupcakes for my friend Nicki's little monkey, Luca's first birthday. (Just click on Nicki's name to visit her awesome blog)

The cupcakes were vanilla with a nutella filling topped with my favorite mashmallow fluff frosting. I love the contrast of the blue sprinkles on the yellow and the yellow sprinkles on the blue.

The cake was a rich chocolate cake with a moussey / fluffy chocolate frosting underneath the fondant. 

This was the most fun that I've had baking in a LONG time and the look on Nicki's face when she opened the box and saw the cake made it so rewarding. 

I'd better hit the books again. Got 2 assignments to finish.
